Everybody, anyone, anybody, neither, each, someone, person, nobody – are singular and take singular pronouns.

Note:

Everybody, anyone, anybody, neither, each, someone, person, nobody are examples of indefinite pronouns. Indefinite pronouns do not point to a specific thing or things, person or persons. They point to a generalized thing or things, person or persons . 

Other indefinite pronouns are: another, any, anything, both,  either, everyone, everything, many, none,no one, one, other, others, some, and somebody.

Examples

  • Everybody has the possibility to change.
  • Someone is listening to us.
  • Neither answer was correct.
  • Nobody likes to be insulted.
